📋 Table of Contents
1. Introduction
As a Publisher/Affiliate, you can use the TrafficManager Plugin to:
- Link your Shopify products to affiliate offers
- Promote offers through your store
- Track clicks and earn commissions
This guide will walk you through the complete setup process.
If you later add advertiser credentials to your store, advertiser will take priority. Orders with a TrafficManager click ID will be processed as advertiser conversions, and publisher lead tracking will be paused. Both credentials can coexist, but only one mode is active at a time.
2. Publisher Setup
Step 1: Get Your API Credentials
Before you can connect your store, you need your API credentials from your TrafficManager platform:
- Log in to your TrafficManager platform (the one you're registered with)
- Go to your Profile or Settings
- Find the Security & API section
- Make sure your API is Enabled
- Copy these three things:
- Your Platform URL (example: https://demo.trafficmanager.com)
- Your User ID
- Your API Key
Keep these safe! Don't share your API Key with anyone.
Step 2: Enter Your Credentials in Shopify

- You'll see a Publisher Credentials box
- Fill in the three fields:
- Paste your Platform URL

5. Troubleshooting
"Credentials Not Accepted" Error
If you see this error:
- ✓ Check your Platform URL is correct (must start with https://)
- ✓ Make sure you copied the full User ID (no spaces)
- ✓ Make sure you copied the full API Key (no spaces)
- ✓ Verify API is "Enabled" in your account
- ✓ Make sure you're using publisher credentials
Can't See Any Offers
If the offers dropdown is empty:
- ✓ Make sure you selected credentials first
- ✓ Check that you have offers assigned in your account
- ✓ Verify the offers are marked as "Active"
- ✓ Try refreshing the page
Can't Select a Product
If the product button is disabled:
- ✓ First select your platform credentials
- ✓ Then select an offer
- ✓ Then select a landing page
- ✓ Now the product button should work
Product Already Linked
If you get "already linked" error:
- ✓ Go to Linked products page
- ✓ Search for your product
- ✓ You'll see it's already connected to an offer
- ✓ If needed, unlink it first, then create a new link
💡 Best Practices
- Start Small: Link a few products first to test everything works
- Keep Organized: Use clear product names so you can find them easily
- Regular Checks: Visit the Linked Products page occasionally to make sure everything is still active
- Update Links: If an offer ends, remember to update or remove the link
